Scalloped Shelves!

I made some scalloped covers for a few shelves in the shop! I'd seen a picture on pinterest that I loved and wanted to recreate. There's more photos on the vintage blog it came from here.

So I didn't have a jigsaw or any spare plywood so I decided to make my scallops from coloured card. I started my drawing around the shelf to get the size right and then used a roll of masking tape that was to hand to draw around a create a good even set of curves.

I then cut it all out and scored the fold line over with a pair of scissors. Ta Da! ha what do you think? I think I need tomake some more pretties to sit on them :)

Snapped Up Musical Extravaganza

Sunday was amazing! I had the best day in ages; saw lots of lush friends and smiley people, printed all day long and listened to some rad live music! I ran a little stall getting people to have a go printing and then I was stitching them up into cushions! There were some great t-shirt designs to have a go at printing too and awesome sets from Dan from the Samoans and the lovely Julia Harris. Can't wait for the next one.

Street Craft

We were selling our wares on St Mary's Street in Cardiff yesterday. It was a busy day with our lovely friend Doreen helping out so Tom and I could go running off to the PrintHaus to get everything sorted for today! (More about that tomorrow!) Unfortunately the day ended with some evil toad stealing her handbag from the stall as we were packing up. Rubbish but it was fun getting to hang out for most of the day. My boyfriend took some photos when he stopped by to say hello so I thought I'd share. Sorry the pics have a reddish tint but the gazebo roof was red and cast an awful light :(

Ooh and a bit of pink on the wall at CFQ.

The Hard Slog

All are hard work is paying off and we're nearly there! I think we'll probably be opening on Monday!! I would have liked to have opened over the weekend but what with the second installment of the St Mary's Street stall and then Snapped Up on Sunday at the PrintHaus its a flatout weekend ahead for us :)

Here's how the show is looking today!

Check out our new desk too! I love the drawers down the side.

Present Day!!! I wouldn't bother if you like Fern Cotton tho...

I didn't think I'd have time to fit in a post today but I had to share some sweet gifts that Mr Postie dropped off today.

First was a parcel from the lovely Miss Appletini... eep

She made the flower button hair clip with some lovely flamingo fabric, she'll have to let me know where its from- I've always wanted a flamingo dress! Also looks like she's finally using the badge making machine which is super cool! The zine is an old one she wrote that I have been dying to get my hands on; it has a funny review of my boyfriends old band. Don't get me started on Fern Cotton but we all love a good Bill Hicks sticker and pin haha.

Some may call this scandalous haha. I especially like Pluto.

Awesome mix CD!

Mr Postie also brought my pay it forward gift from the dearest Lulu. Bless her I do love decorated envelopes too! I forgot to take a pic of Appletini's stickered envelope but Lulu did an awesome job too :)

The lip balm is delish, not that I've been eating it, I'm not 5!

Can't wait to get my pass it on packages out next week! There's still one space left on the post if anyone wants to join in.

Buttons, Bows, Paws and Cabinets.

What's that you say, 3 blog posts in one day is she mad! Well tomorrow I'm going to be busy at the stall so I thought I'd share what I made today anyway and the other two posts didn't exactly have work in them! haha.

I made some button hair clips using my new pink glue gun! The buttons are from my massive collection of vintage ones. I thought I'd choose some autumnal colours. It was fun going through the tins and sorting them out!

I also made a small pile of bows but I haven't decided what to do with them yet. I'm thinking maybe hair clips again or elastic for bow ties? Comment most welcome!!

I also stitched a few patches onto some hats for my mate Sam who has started a clothing range to raise money for dog's homes, called Southpaw.

On Saturday we bought a wall cabinet to display my things on from the local British Heart Foundation shop. It was a bargain and our kind friend Tom helped out with his van.

Slowly starting to get there!
